Welcome to our new online home!!!

Welcome to the home page of the Sachem Central Teachers' Association.


   The SCTA represents 1,273 Teachers, 129 Teaching Assistants and 116 Teacher Aides. Our members are employed by the Sachem Central School District, one of the two largest suburban school districts in New York State. The 18 school buildings we work in consist of 12 Elementary Schools (K - 5), 4 Middle Schools (6 - 8) and 2 High Schools (9- 12).
   The school district is located in Suffolk County on Long Island and our students live in many communities in the District including Lake Ronkonkoma, Lake Grove, Farmingville, Holbrook and Holtsville.
   We are very proud of the job we do educating our students and we hope you enjoy the contents of this web site.


President's Message
 
Welcome to our new website and the start of the 2008-2009 school year. Please take some time to explore all the features that are available. This new website is a giant leap forward and is essential for a union with 18 buildings in order to overcome communication problems. The site will be updated almost every day, or as soon as any news is available. Our new website will also make everyone’s life easier. Important phone numbers, contacts for benefit questions, forms for upcoming events and much more will all be there for you with just the click of a mouse. Even the Speak Out will be online. The SCTA is truly going green. I hope your school year opens smoothly and continues that way until next June. Let’s make this a great year.
